Springtime

Hola! Or I should say, "Top o' the mornin' to ya!" Yesterday was St. Patrick's Day, as you well know, so you can understand that I was too busy drinking green non-alchoholic beer and parading around in my maternity leprechaun suit to update the blog. Hope you forgive me! Anyway, Miss Izzy is now 28 months old! Yes, indeed our little girl is now 2 years and 4 months old and with that comes lots of big kid stuff! We just moved Izzy into her very own "big girl" bed. We will be needing the crib for Mr. Newbie pretty soon and we wanted Izzy to be all settled in her new bed before the baby comes and before the move we are planning in May to a new house. So the transition from crib to toddler bed was, well, an adventure... but more on that later...

Cheeeeeeeezzzzeee!

Super jump!!!

Crash landing... oops!

Bubble time with Miss Leah!

Visiting daddy's work and showing him how to use his Cintiq (that's fancy talk for a really cool computer where you can draw directly on the screen!) Check out the awesome drawing I did!

For my next song, I'd like to dedicate it to my Nana and Grandpapi who moved all the way to Texas for me!

Adventures in Toddlerhood

Helping daddy take down the crib to make room for my new bed!

Goodbye, old friend!

Building my new bed.

"Be careful, Daddy!" (Izzy kept saying this over and over... she wanted to make sure her daddy was okay. So sweet!)

Finally after much drama over missing parts and pieces we finished building my bed! Yippee! Now get out of here so I can get some shut eye!

Day one: Naptime was a no go. Izzy had a great revelation that she could actually get in and out of bed whenever she wanted! That night, after ushering Izzy back into bed a couple of times (and realizing she can now open doors) she finally went to sleep in her bed and slept the whole night!
Day two: Child-proofing the doorknobs! No nap. Bedtime as usual.
Day three: No nap. Well, in her bed. Instead, she fell asleep propped up on the ottoman in her room. When I left to get the camera, she had slid down onto the floor and took the remainder of her nap there. See picture below.
After some very "iffy" naps and wonderful nighttime slumbers in her big girl bed, finally, brilliant daddy realized that maybe naptime would go more smoothly if we made it like bedtime. So a change into her pajamas and adding more elements of her nighttime routine yielded 2 hour naps yet again! Yay for daddy and for Izzy for making this big transition fairly painless!

Wow, mommy's tummy is really getting big! Too many vegetarian cheeseburgers, I suppose. Or perhaps, it has something to do with that "baby brother" I've been hearing so much talk about... hmm?
