We're really missing the June gloom of San Diego. It would be an understatement to say it's been hot around here. Yesterday it got up to 109! No joke. Thankfully, it's not a humid heat and you can run from your air conditioned house to your air conditioned car to the air conditioned wherever without being totally zapped by the humidity as was the case in Houston. But, man, it's too dang hot! And it's only June, for crying out loud! What is the rest of the summer going to be like?

Listening to the music at the weekly Farmer's Market. The best seat in the house: Daddy.

That day at the Farmer's Market, we met two mini-dachshund puppies. Of course I had to take pictures!

Ying and yang puppies.

The dappled doxie pup's name was also Izzy so we just had to get a picture of them together.

Coming up with a game plan...

One and two and three...Jazz hands!

This year, Father's Day happened to land on our 6 year wedding anniversary so we had much to celebrate that day! Seeking refuge from the intense heat outside, we had a late lunch at the Cheesecake factory and then we went to the air conditioned mall.

This place is called the "Cheesecake Factory" and you're giving me bread? Waitress!

Smiley girls :)

No, daddy, you shouldn't have to do anything on your special day. Here, let me feed you...

Looking too cool in daddy's hat.

Bathtime is showtime!

The local radio station here began their annual outdoor movie series. We loved "Film in the Fog" in San Francisco so decided to check out the Austin equivalent. Well, lemme tell ya, we would've welcomed some fog that night--it was sooooo hot! I think it got up to 105! The temp didn't drop much after the sun went down, either. It remained miserably hot all evening. Izzy was a trooper, though, and enjoyed showing off her dance moves to the captive audience of people sitting around us. If this crazy heat wave continues, we will not be attending the rest of the movie series!

Waiting for it to get dark enough for the movie.

At least we were not among those who were drenched by the sprinklers turning on at the end of the movie. On second thought, perhaps we would have welcomed a spontaneous run thru the sprinklers...?

The big, inflatable movie screen in the background...

Cheeeeeeeeezzzzzzze!

Happy family :o)

Here is the pilot episode of "Storytime With Isabella." We'll see if it gets picked up by one of the networks.

Today Miss Izzy is 19 months old! Yesterday she had her check-up and here are the latest stats:
Weight: 24lbs. 12oz. and Height: 30 inches. Wow, I thought for sure she'd weigh more than that, carrying her around, but yeah, she's in the 55th percentile for weight--a healthy, happy toddler! As you know from the video, she loves to dance, "sing" on occasion, read books and play with her toys. Her favorite character is Elmo but she carries around Big Bird 'cuz he looks like a duck (her favorite animal.) Most of the following pics are from the Farmer's Market.

The state of things today, oy vay! I'm fraklemt! I need a nosh... where's my handbag?

Contemplating the water play area at the Farmer's Market.

A rare outdoor photograph of the Pink Phantom's sister, the Dining Room Ghost.

A running start...

Groovin' to the music... with one sandal.

Weeeeeeeeeee!!!

Teaching mommy how to dance. Boy, does she have a lot to learn!

...now in the other direction!

First rule in sports: it's necessary to coordinate one's outfit with the athletic equipment.

A bit underwhelmed by the caterpillar "ride" at the book store.

Whenever Izzy hears music, she can't help but dance. Here is a compilation of clips demonstrating her moves. It's kinda long but, heck, I'm sure you won't mind much. Oh, and remember... Groove is in the Heart...
